La Grange, MO Trash & Recycling: Collection Schedule (2026)

La Grange City Code § 235.020(A) commits the City to providing collection of all residential solid waste, while allowing it to deliver that service by contracting with a person, county or other city, or a combination of them, for the whole City or particular portions of it, whichever the City Council decides serves the City's best interest. Section 235.040(A)(1) sets the baseline frequency for that service: all residential solid waste other than bulky rubbish must be collected at least once weekly, and all commercial solid waste must likewise be collected at least once weekly.

Weekly service does not extend to bulky rubbish, which is governed separately under § 235.020(B) and receives only two free semi-annual pickups under § 235.040(A)(2) rather than a weekly cycle. Collectors employed by the City or by a contracted solid waste agency are authorized under § 235.030 to enter private property to perform the collection required by Chapter 235. Businesses pay for the service under separate collection charges set out in § 235.130, calculated at rates the City assesses or at contracted rates, while residential service charges are fixed by the City Council under § 235.100 and are billed to the dwelling unit receiving the service until the unit is shown to be vacant.
