La Grange, MO Trash & Recycling: Pickup Rules & Schedules (2026)

Under La Grange City Code § 235.010, the occupant of every dwelling unit, institutional, commercial, business, industrial or agricultural establishment that produces solid waste must provide sufficient, adequate storage containers for all solid waste except bulky rubbish and demolition and construction debris. Containers must be commercially manufactured for waste storage, fitted with a lid, kept in good repair, and the surrounding area kept clean, neat and sanitary at all times; any exception requires special written permission from the City. The City provides or contracts out residential collection under § 235.020(A), and § 235.020(C) sets the only window residents may leave waste at the curb: from 2:00 p.m. the day before collection until 8:00 p.m. on collection day, after which loaded waste becomes the collection agency's property.

Section 235.050 caps manually lifted containers at ninety-five gallons and one hundred pounds when full, so oversized bins that require mechanical lifting fall outside that limit. Solid waste collectors are authorized under § 235.030 to enter private property to perform collection. The person whose name is on the solid waste account, and the property's owner of record, are presumed responsible for any container or placement violation, and the condition can also be charged as a public nuisance, with each day of continuance a separate offense.
