Ashwaubenon, WI Trash & Recycling: Pickup Rules & Schedules (2026)

Section 18-2-36 of the Ashwaubenon Municipal Code governs where solid waste has to sit for pickup, separate from the weekly schedule set in § 18-2-25. Subsection (C) requires residential waste to be properly prepared and placed at the curbline; the village will not send a truck into the alley behind a residential lot, and it will not collect from private property at all. Subsection (D)(2) applies the identical rule to recyclables: no pickups on residential private property, and none on nonresidential property either. The only exception is (E): the village street operations supervisor may approve rear-of-residence or back-door pickup, but only after confirming that a hardship exists because of a physical disability.

Absent that sign-off, waste left at the back door or in a rear yard simply won't be collected. Subsection (J) closes off any workaround: there is no variance from the placement rules in § 18-2-36 without the operations superintendent's prior approval, so a resident can't informally arrange a different pickup spot with the crew. Multi-unit and commercial properties face an added structural requirement under (K): from June 30, 2005 onward, collectible waste from every property except one-, two- and three-family dwellings must sit in a gated, four-sided, opaque enclosure with a concrete or asphalt floor, approved by the site plan review committee, with walls no taller than eight feet.
