Ashwaubenon, WI Trash & Recycling: Collection Schedule (2026)

Ashwaubenon Municipal Code § 18-2-25 obligates the village's Department of Public Works to collect residential and commercial solid waste from every residential property in the village, once each week, at no charge, using the standard 65- or 95-gallon rollout container the village assigns under § 18-2-34. Collection is conditioned on the waste being properly handled, prepared, contained and stored in line with the rules the operations superintendent publishes under this chapter; the superintendent also holds general authority under § 18-2-31 to control how solid waste is collected, removed and hauled village-wide.

Not everything goes out with the weekly cart: § 18-2-32 lists industrial and manufacturing waste, hazardous or toxic waste, batteries, tires, waste oil, medical and infectious waste, and electronics or anything with a circuit board as materials the village will not collect at all. Outdoor burning of solid waste is separately banned at any time within the village under § 18-2-39(C), so residents can't substitute burning for collection. The weekly schedule is distinct from the once-every-two-weeks recycling pickup set out in § 18-2-27, and from the third-full-week-of-the-month bulk collection described in § 18-2-33(F).

Because the container size and weekly frequency are fixed by ordinance rather than by contract terms that vary by neighborhood, every household inside village limits is on the same cycle; the operations superintendent's published rules, not a private hauler's schedule, control any exceptions to the weekly pickup.
