Ashwaubenon, WI Trash & Recycling: Yard Waste Collection (2026)

Ashwaubenon Municipal Code § 18-2-24 tells residents when the village will and will not pick up yard debris at the curb. From April through September, the Department of Public Works does not collect grass clippings or vegetable vines; the village resumes picking up leaves and grass only in October and November. During the growing season the ordinance instead directs residents to the village's own drop-off site: property owners inside the village limits may deliver brush, grass clippings, leaves and garden waste, unbagged, to the rear of the village garage on Collaer Court, or to whatever location the operations superintendent designates.

No garbage, trash or other non-yard-waste material may go into that disposal area, and § 18-2-24(D) separately makes it illegal to place or rake leaves, grass clippings, brush or garden waste into the street or gutter; it must be raked to the parkway instead. Section 18-2-26 covers the free, year-round yard-waste dropoff site: loose material only, no bags or reusable containers, and anyone hauling yard waste there must cover or contain the load in transit so it doesn't scatter. The Department of Public Works sets and posts the site's operating hours.

The same section bars landscaping and lawn-care businesses from using the residential dropoff site for waste generated on the job, and from hauling away compost, sand, dirt, woodchips or other material stored there. Residents who pick up wood chips, mulch, black dirt, sand or gravel at the village garage do so under § 18-2-24(C), for use within the village only. The dropoff-site rules were most recently amended by Ordinance No. O2-7-2012 and the seasonal pickup schedule by Ordinance No. O10-1-19 in 2019.
