Section 975.07, Location of Waste for Pickup, is Canton's core curbside-preparation rule inside Chapter 975's Solid Waste Management System, adopted by Ordinance 132-2020. Subsection (b) covers "Nonbulky Waste," meaning ordinary household trash, leaves, grass clippings and tree trimmings under the Section 975.01(p) definition: it must be placed at the collection site or curb, properly containerized or secured against sewer blockage, traffic obstruction, littering, and food or harborage for animals, rodents or insects, and residents may not rake, sweep or blow loose waste directly into the street.

The rule works alongside Section 975.09's separate list of prohibited activities, which bars burning solid waste outside a licensed incinerator, operating an open dump, littering non-containerized yard waste on public or private property, and placing a dead animal in a collection container. Anyone other than a City sanitation crew who collects, transports or disposes of solid waste commercially in Canton, including bagged household trash hauled for a fee, must hold an annual permit from the License Department under Section 975.11, renewable for a $50.00 nonrefundable fee, and that permit can be revoked after notice and a hearing if the holder violates the chapter.
