Blue Springs, MO Trash & Recycling: Yard Waste Collection (2026)

Subsection (E) requires tree limbs under four inches in diameter and brush, when not placed in a storage container, to be securely tied into bundles no larger than forty-eight inches long by eighteen inches in diameter, with each bundle capped at seventy-five pounds. Subsection (F) requires yard wastes to be stored in containers built and maintained to prevent the waste from dispersing onto the served premises, adjacent premises, or the adjacent public right-of-way, and caps the weight of any individual container and its contents at seventy-five pounds as well.

Section 255.010 defines YARD WASTES as grass clippings, leaves, tree and shrub pruning, garden wastes and other yard debris. Placement is separately timed under Section 255.030(B): yard waste, trash containers and tree limb bundles may be set at the curb or no closer than five feet from the dwelling, preferably on the driveway, but only between 6:00 P.M. the night before collection and 10:00 P.M. on collection day itself. All of Chapter 255, including the storage rules, applies to every dwelling unit, institutional, commercial, industrial or agricultural establishment generating waste within City limits.
