Sec. 98-29 places the removal duty squarely on the person who hires the tree work: it shall be the duty of any person employing a contractor, tree trimmer or other person to trim or prune trees or shrubs to have such trimmings removed from the premises at his own expense. The city's solid waste contractor is not obligated to haul that debris away as part of regular service; Sec. 98-29 only lets the contractor take it on, on a mutually agreeable basis, meaning the homeowner or business has to arrange it separately, paying for that arrangement directly, rather than assuming the standard cart or bulk pickup covers a tree-trimming job.

Sec. 98-2 defines brush broadly to include plants or grass clippings, leaves or tree trimmings, the same category that qualifies for the city's separate brush and bulk collection program; a resident doing their own light yard trimming, rather than hiring a trimmer, can still route ordinary brush through that program rather than Sec. 98-29's hire-a-contractor rule. Sec. 98-30 also bars burning solid waste, including yard debris, in a private incinerator on property zoned or used for single- or multifamily residential purposes, so burning cut brush or trimmings on a residential lot is not an alternative to arranging removal.
