Casa Grande Municipal Code § 6.08.090.D is the city's only rule aimed specifically at wild-animal keeping: any exhibition or parade of animals that are "ferae naturae in the eyes of the law", meaning animals of a naturally wild and undomesticated character, may be conducted within the City of Casa Grande only after the organizer secures a permit from the animal control officer. The chapter does not separately ban private possession of exotic species by name, but a wild or exotic animal that bites or kills without provocation can still be declared a "vicious animal" under § 6.08.090.A and impounded or destroyed under subsections B, C, and § 6.08.100.

Enforcement authority for the permit requirement comes from § 6.08.010, which empowers city-manager-appointed animal control officers to enforce Chapter 6.08 and any animal-control provision of the Arizona Revised Statutes. Because subsection D lists no specific fine, a violation, holding an unpermitted wild-animal exhibition or parade, falls under the chapter's general jurisdiction clause in § 6.08.020, which gives the Casa Grande City Court authority over Chapter 6.08 violations and classifies them as a Class 2 misdemeanor. The definition of "animal" used elsewhere in the chapter, at § 6.08.030.A.1, covering all mammal species except humans and all bird species, gives the permit requirement its practical reach: it applies to wild mammals and birds brought into the city for public display, not just traditional pets.
