Height Limits

Rowan County's zoning code does not set a blanket fence height limit for front, side or rear yards, but it does control fence and planting height inside the sight-distance triangle at street intersections under Sec. 21-274. Nothing may be erected, placed, planted or allowed to grow between two and one-half and ten feet high inside that triangle, so a corner-lot fence taller than 2.5 feet must sit outside the triangle or stay low enough not to block sightlines.
