The Rowan County codes enforcement supervisor can condemn any building that looks especially dangerous to life because of fire risk, bad walls, overloaded floors, defective construction, decay, unsafe wiring or heating, or poor exits, and must post a danger notice on it. If the owner does not act, the county can order repair, closing, vacating, or demolition, with costs charged back to the property.
