(a)It shall be unlawful and a violation of the provisions of this article for any person to cause, allow, permit or suffer any vehicle registered in his name or operated by him to be parked in a fire lane designated by the chief of the fire department or the state fire marshal. Any person who violates this subsection shall pay to the city a civil fine of $50.00 within ten days of the issuance of the citation therefor.(b)Whenever the fire chief or the state fire marshal has designated a fire lane pursuant to this section, it shall be the duty of the owner of the premises where a fire lane has been so designated, to cause the curbs located on his premises to be painted in a color, to be determined by the fire chief, which clearly reflects the location of the fire lane.(c)The fire chief shall notify the owner...in writing by certified mail, that he is to paint the curbs...The owner of such premises shall then have 30 days in which to paint the curbs.(d)Failure to paint the curbs in the manner required by the fire chief shall constitute a violation of this chapter and be punishable by a fine of $50.00.
