Shreveport sets no general overnight limit on parking a passenger car on a residential street. The restrictions target size and surface: commercial vehicles and RVs face a 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. curfew on non-residential private lots, and yard parking is regulated.
UDC section 8.12 makes it unlawful to park a commercial or recreational vehicle on non-residential private property between 9:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m., exempting hotels and traveler-service lots and the I-1 and I-2 industrial districts. UDC section 8.10 bars outdoor overnight storage of semi-tractors, trailers, buses, tow trucks and construction vehicles on residential lots while expressly allowing vans, SUVs and pickups. On the street, Code section 90-305 prohibits parking buses, trucks and trailers in residential and commercial zones except for expeditious delivery. Section 90-287(a)(18) confines residential yard parking to a hard-surfaced or bordered area covering no more than half the front yard, capped at four vehicles.
Street violations are civil infractions with a $15 base penalty plus a $10 late fee; yard-surface violations run $100, $300, then $525, and section 90-305 violations run $100 then $200 per day.
