No truck, tow truck, bus, tractor-trailer or trailer body of any kind, vacation home or camper trailer, coach or similar vehicle of any kind, with a manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating in excess of 8,000 pounds, shall be parked on any street in any zone or any boat or boat trailer of any size shall be parked on any street in any zone between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. The foregoing restrictions shall also apply to the parking of any vehicles, regardless of weight rating, that have roof storage of ladders, scaffolding, other equipment, materials or items which overhang either the front or rear bumper of the vehicle, extending beyond said bumper or bumpers of the vehicle.

The same restriction reaches vehicles of any weight carrying roof-mounted ladders, scaffolding, materials or equipment that overhangs the front or rear bumper. seven days a week unless the owner holds a permit from the Director of Public Safety. Only a City resident whose vehicle registration and driver's license share the same Long Branch address may apply, and no more than one permit issues per residence. Construction trailers and equipment may park overnight during active construction of a principal structure with approval from the Chief of Police, coordinated with the Traffic Division, and must be removed once construction finishes.
Service vehicles are exempt while actually performing a service call, but sitting on-call does not count as performing a service. Semitrailers may never be left unhitched on any city street, roadway or alley at any time under a 2023 amendment, Ordinance No. 16-23, regardless of the overnight window.

Any vehicle, boat, equipment or trailer parked in violation may be cited and impounded by any police officer, with the owner responsible for towing and storage fees set under Chapter 316, § 316-5. Beyond impoundment costs, § 325-23 sets the general Chapter 325 penalty: up to $500 and imprisonment for as long as 15 days, or both, for anyone convicted of violating the parking chapter.
