Blue Springs, MO Parking Rules: RV & Boat Parking (2026)

Section 365.080, "Parking In Residential Zones," is Blue Springs' main answer to residents storing recreational vehicles, trailers and boats on the street rather than on their own property. Subsection (A)(1)(a) bans parking or storing any travel trailer, camping trailer or pop-up camper longer than twenty feet, designed to be towed behind a motor vehicle, on any street or highway outright, regardless of duration. Subsection (A)(1)(b) is the twenty-four-hour rule for everything else in this category: a recreational vehicle, whether or not it is motorized and operational, a flatbed trailer, an enclosed trailer, a boat trailer, or a boat cannot sit on any street or highway for more than twenty-four hours, and the owner cannot simply move it up the block to dodge the clock, since re-parking within one thousand feet, measured radially, of a spot it occupied within the past forty-eight hours is treated the same as leaving it in place.

Subsection (A)(1)(c) separately bans parking or storing a commercial vehicle licensed over six tons anywhere in a residentially zoned district, whether on the street or on private property. Subsection (A)(2) carves out a practical exception: limited parking is permitted while a listed vehicle is actively loading, unloading or being used to perform a service at a property on that block, and construction vehicles may park on an active construction site. Under Subsection (D), if a vehicle is found violating the Section, the registered owner is held prima facie responsible whenever the driver is not present.
