Blue Springs, MO Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Two chapters govern everyday on-street parking in Blue Springs. Section 350.010, "Standing Or Parking Close To Curb," sets the baseline method: except where the Code provides otherwise, every vehicle stopped or parked on a roadway with adjacent curbs must have its right-hand wheels parallel to, and within eighteen inches of, the right-hand curb. Because that measurement is taken from the right-hand wheels, a driver cannot legally park facing the wrong way, against the flow of traffic, on a two-way street with curbs, since doing so would put the left-hand wheels next to the curb instead.

Section 355.010, "Stopping, Standing Or Parking Prohibited," then lists the specific places drivers cannot stop, stand or park at all, except to avoid a traffic conflict or under police direction. Subsection (A)(1) bars parking on the roadway side of another parked vehicle (double-parking), on a sidewalk, within an intersection, on a crosswalk, and within ten feet of a mailbox used for United States Mail delivery between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on days other than Sunday or a federal holiday. Subsection (A)(2) targets driveway blocking directly: no one may stand or park, even briefly except to pick up or drop off a passenger, in front of a public or private driveway or within four feet of it, within fifteen feet of a fire hydrant, within twenty feet of an intersection crosswalk, or within thirty feet of an approach to a stop sign or signal. Subsection (B) makes it equally unlawful to move an uncontrolled vehicle into any of these prohibited spots.
