Section 250-43K(5) of the Land Development Ordinance's performance standards governs outdoor storage of vehicles other than passenger cars and motorcycles in residential zones. Individual storage areas are permitted in side and rear yards in every residential zone; front-yard storage is allowed only in the R-5 Zone, and only where a building physically blocks access to the side or rear yard. Neighborhood residents may also establish a common storage facility as a principal use within any zone. Whatever the location, each household is limited to one recreational vehicle, motor home, travel trailer or camper, one small boat, and one commercial vehicle that has no more than two axles and weighs no more than 5,000 pounds gross vehicle weight.

None of those items can exceed 28 feet in length, 10 feet of roofline height, or nine feet of width. The ordinance also bars anyone from living in a stored RV or camper, or from running site utilities, such as water, sewer or electric hookups, out to it. These limits sit alongside the Township's broader outdoor storage and display rules in § 250-43K, which separately govern trash receptacles, temporary sales and vending machines. The Department of Community Development's Zoning Officer enforces the vehicle-storage limits during code enforcement inspections, and a resident who receives a notice of violation must bring the storage area into compliance or remove the excess vehicle.
