Beaumont, CA Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Beaumont Municipal Code § 10.08.010 authorizes the Chief of Police to prohibit stopping, standing or parking, and to place signs or curb markings, when a traffic investigation shows the prohibition will alleviate dangerous or hazardous traffic conditions, facilitate full use of the roadway or serve the public convenience. The listed places are any place within 25 feet of the intersection of two or more highways, streets or roads; within 25 feet of a railroad grade crossing; adjacent to either side of a crosswalk or driveway entrance for up to 25 feet; and within 15 feet of a fire hydrant. Section 10.08.070 lets the Chief place temporary no parking signs near public or private gatherings or during street construction, alteration or repair. Section 10.08.090 makes it unlawful to park or leave standing any vehicle that blocks or obstructs an official traffic sign or device.

Other chapter provisions add specific bans. Section 10.08.060 bars parking on the unpaved portion of a City-owned right-of-way next to the paved street. Section 10.16.010 requires the operator of a vehicle parked on any street steeper than three percent to set the brakes and block the wheels by turning them against the curb or by other means. Chapter 10.22 covers street sweeping: § 10.22.010 makes it unlawful to park on a street during the hours and days designated for sweeping, except commercial vehicles making pick-ups or deliveries, and § 10.22.020 has the Planning Director set the areas, with about half of each area swept in the morning and half in the afternoon and No Parking signs posted at entrances to subdivisions and tracts. A first street sweeping violation draws a parking citation from a Police Officer or Code Enforcement Officer; a second consecutive violation by the same vehicle within 12 months can bring a citation and a tow at the registered owner's expense (§ 10.22.030).
