Beaumont, CA Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

Beaumont Municipal Code § 10.06.010(B) says yellow curb indicates stopping only for the purpose of loading or unloading passengers or freight. Subsection (C) says white curb indicates stopping for loading or unloading passengers or depositing mail in an adjacent mailbox. The chapter prints no clock hours or minute limits for either color, so the meaning of the paint is the rule. Under § 10.06.015 the City Engineer designates yellow (loading) and white (passenger loading) curbs based on traffic surveys or engineering studies, and those markings are enforceable under the Beaumont Municipal Code and California Vehicle Code.

Commercial delivery has its own limits in Chapter 10.12. Section 10.12.010 defines a commercial vehicle as any dray, truck, wagon, cart, automobile or other traffic vehicle carrying or used in transporting goods, merchandise, lumber, machinery, oil, dirt or any article of trade or commerce. Section 10.12.020 makes it unlawful to park, stop or leave such a vehicle standing, attended or not, on a public highway, street or alley within 500 feet of any school building, school yard or other premises used in connection with public schools, except to deliver goods, wares or merchandise, and then only while the delivery is being made.

For heavy trucks, § 10.12.030(B) allows vehicles over a 10,000 pound manufacturer's gross vehicle weight to park on streets while making pickups or deliveries to adjacent property on streets that are not designated truck routes, or while performing a service on a property in the same block. On designated truck routes the limit is two consecutive hours. Section 10.22.010 also exempts commercial vehicles making pick-ups or deliveries from the street sweeping parking ban. Section 10.08.101 puts unauthorized parking in designated curb color zones under the parking penalty schedule the City Council adopts by resolution.
