Glen Cove, NY Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Section 265-27.1 lists Glen Cove's parking violations one by one rather than leaving them to a general prohibition. Subsection C bars standing or parking, occupied or not, in front of a public or private driveway, with the only exception being a momentary stop to pick up or drop off a passenger, and only when doing so does not conflict with other traffic or a police officer's or traffic device's directions. The same article separately bars double parking on the roadway side of a parked vehicle (Subsection A), parking on a crosswalk (B), standing within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection (D), within 30 feet of a traffic signal or stop sign (E), and within 15 feet of a fire hydrant unless an attended, licensed driver can move the car immediately (F). Vehicles must park within 12 inches of the curb, facing the direction of travel on a one-way street (H and I), and a driver who leaves a car unattended must stop the engine, lock it and set the brake (K).

Any Glen Cove Police officer, Auxiliary Police officer or Code Enforcement Officer can issue a summons for these violations under Section 265-27.2, and Section 265-27.3 fixes the fine for a blocked driveway at $125, the same amount charged for parking on a crosswalk, within 20 or 30 feet of an intersection control, or improper curb parking.
