Caldwell, ID Special Events & Permits: Park Event Permits (2026)

Caldwell routes every park-based special event through two extra steps beyond the general permit process. Caldwell City Code § 06-23-01(6), Reservations, requires that the applicant make reservations for the subject park site through the Parks Department prior to submitting the special event application to the City Clerk's Office, meaning the Parks Department booking has to happen first, not alongside or after the Clerk's Office paperwork. Subsection (7), Deposit Required, then requires that any applicant using a City Park facility for a special event submit a refundable damages and cleaning deposit along with the special event permit application.

The permit itself is overseen jointly by the City Clerk and the Mayor under subsection (5), and the Clerk's Office routes the application to the Police, Fire, Parks and Recreation, Streets and Engineering Departments, among others, for review and any conditions of approval under subsection (12). If the event is expected to require extraordinary City resources, such as added security or Parks staff for a large gathering, subsection (11)(B) lets the city charge full cost recovery within 60 days after the event and collect an extraordinary-resources deposit up front.
