Galt pool barriers must meet CA HSC 115923: 60-inch minimum height, self-closing self-latching outward gates, no climbable features, and picket gaps under 1.75 inches to block a 4-inch sphere.
Per HSC 115923, pool enclosures must be at least 60 inches tall measured from the outside ground. Gaps between the ground and bottom of the fence cannot exceed 2 inches. Vertical picket spacing cannot exceed 1.75 inches, and horizontal rails on the outside must be at least 45 inches apart to prevent climbing. Gates must swing away from the pool, be self-closing, and have self-latching hardware with the latch at least 60 inches above ground or on the pool side. Chain-link mesh cannot exceed 1.75 inches unless slatted. The house wall may serve as part of the barrier only if all doors leading to the pool have an alarm or self-closing, self-latching mechanism. Galt inspectors verify compliance at final pool inspection and at property transfer.
Non-compliant barrier: red-tag preventing pool use, 500 dollar civil penalty, liability exposure for drowning incidents.
