Section 7-04-001-0008(D)(5) requires automated collection containers to be placed at curbside by 6:00 a.m. on the day of collection and removed from the curbside on the same day the container is serviced, so a cart cannot sit out overnight before pickup or linger for days afterward. Subsection (D)(6) adds that containers must not be blocked by vehicles or other objects that would hinder pickup by City sanitation vehicles or employees, and that automated containers cannot be placed within four feet of anything the City's automated lifting equipment could damage.

Separately, Section 7-04-001-0007(D) through (F) makes the City responsible for providing and maintaining the automated containers themselves, replacing them when the Director or designee determines it necessary. If the City issues a notice of violation over a container problem, Section 7-04-001-0015(B)(2) gives most solid waste violations 30 days to come into compliance, but carves out a much shorter clock specifically for a container left curbside: 24 hours from receipt of the notice. That accelerated timeline signals how strictly the City treats carts left out past collection day compared with other chapter violations.
