Flagstaff, AZ Parking Rules: RV & Boat Parking (2026)

Flagstaff Zoning Code § 10-50.80.080(L), Trailers, RVs and Boats, splits the rule into storage and parking. Placement for residential or storage purposes is prohibited in every zone unless it fits the storage or parking exceptions in subsections (L)(2) and (3). Storage, defined as parking for more than five days per month, is allowed only in the rear yard or interior side yard behind the front of the building, garage or carport, and only where there is a principal use on the property, no business is run out of the trailer, the unit is not used as a residence except for guests staying up to five days a month, and the lot still carries its required number of parking spaces.

Parking of five days or less per month for maintenance, loading or unloading is allowed in that same rear or interior side area, on the driveway in front of a garage or carport, or within a strip no more than 10 feet wide between the driveway and the nearest interior side property line. Front and exterior side yards otherwise carry no RV, trailer or boat parking at all, per Figure 10-50.80.080C. In commercial and industrial zones, overnight parking of travel trailers, motor homes or RVs is allowed for one night only, with a posted sign and the vehicle moved by 10:00 a.m., under subsection (L)(4). Community Development's Zoning Code Administrator enforces these standards citywide in the City of Flagstaff.
