Casa Grande, AZ Trash & Recycling: Bulk Item Disposal (2026)

Section 8.08.110.A of the Casa Grande Municipal Code carves out an exception to the mandatory container rule in § 8.08.070 for bulky residential items. Rubbish limited to cardboard, wooden boxes, furniture, appliances, and green waste from a residence within the City limits can be kept out of the assigned refuse container entirely; if green waste is not placed in a container, it has to be bagged or otherwise put in a receptacle so the collection crew can load it. Households that want to skip City pickup altogether for these items can haul them straight to the Casa Grande Municipal Landfill, and disposal is free to residential users who show proof of City residence under § 8.08.100.C.1, with one notable exception: appliances are charged unless the owner shows the Freon has already been removed, per § 8.08.100.C.2.b, in which case there is no charge.

Green waste delivered to the Landfill chipped down to two inches or less is also free under § 8.08.100.C.2.a; mixing it with other refuse voids the free rate and it is billed at the regular Landfill usage charge instead. On the non-residential side, brush and bulky loose refuse are billed by volume under § 8.08.100.B rather than by a flat container rate.
