Casa Grande, AZ Trash & Recycling: Yard Waste Collection (2026)

Casa Grande Municipal Code § 8.08.010.D defines "green waste" as brush, leaves, weeds, and cuttings from trees, lawns, shrubs, and gardens. Under § 8.08.110.A, residential green waste, along with cardboard, wooden boxes, furniture, and appliances, may be kept out of the city-issued refuse containers and instead placed in a sack or receptacle for ease of loading; residents may also maintain compost piles on their own property for fertilization. As rubbish, uncontainerized green waste must be set out for pickup no less than once weekly under § 8.08.090.C, subject to inspection by the public works director.

Residents who instead haul green waste to the Casa Grande Municipal Landfill get it accepted free of charge once chipped to two inches or smaller under § 8.08.100.C.2.a; unchipped green waste mixed with other refuse is charged at the regular Landfill usage rate in the City Consolidated Fee Schedule. Section 8.08.190 bars burning, incinerating, burying, or dumping green waste (or any rubbish, garbage, or waste) anywhere in the city except under a special permit, and separately prohibits throwing it into streets, alleys, canals, or drainage ditches.

The public works director, or a designee, enforces Chapter 8.08 under § 8.08.020, and § 8.08.210.A makes a violation of the chapter a class two misdemeanor prosecutable in Casa Grande Municipal Court, on top of any Landfill-access suspension the City can impose under § 8.08.200 for repeated non-compliant loads.
