Full Breakdown
Town of Davie Code § 9-22 requires all residents and occupants of residential units to have accumulated garbage and trash removed by the town's franchised collector not less than twice per seven calendar days, with fees set by agreement between the town and the collector; new residential units are billed immediately upon occupancy. Commercial, industrial, office, and other nonresidential uses face the same twice-weekly minimum, with fees starting at certificate of occupancy for new uses or at business-tax payment for existing ones. Commercial trash producers may instead haul their own non-garbage trash in a covered vehicle to a disposal site.
Violations & Fines
Occupying a property without collector service is prima facie evidence of a sanitary nuisance; garbage or trash left unremoved for more than five days is itself a sanitary nuisance under § 9-24, subject to town correction and lien costs.
