Old Bridge, NJ Trash & Recycling: Collection Schedule (2026)

Section 429-4.5, added March 9, 2015 by Ordinance No. 2015-02, restricts solid waste collection Townshipwide to the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday, closing out Sunday pickups entirely. The Director of Public Works oversees the actual routes and schedules under § 429-6's regulation-making authority for recycling, and the same office runs the appointment systems that sit alongside the fixed weekly schedule: white goods such as refrigerators, washers and hot water heaters under § 429-2E, and brush not exceeding five inches in diameter and 40 pounds, bundled and tied, under § 429-2G, both collected by calling Public Works rather than on the standard curb day.

Residents must still keep to the separate set-out window in § 429-4, placing approved containers at the curb no earlier than 5:00 p.m. the day before their collection day and removing them by 10:00 p.m. on the day itself. Commercial garbage from restaurants and other food-handling establishments may go out unwrapped only if picked up daily, and undrained liquid or semiliquid waste is never accepted regardless of schedule. Municipal waste, defined in § 429-1 to include both domestic and commercial refuse plus construction waste, must be in a suitable approved container to be picked up on the standard schedule; trees, stumps and construction debris are excluded from the routine schedule and must be arranged separately by the property owner or a hired contractor.
