Bossier City's contracted trash and recycling collection follows strict curbside timing rules enforced under Code of Ordinances Sec. 94-58. The collection point itself is fixed by Sec. 94-52(a): containers for trash, business trash, bundles, bulky waste and yard waste belong at curbside, not more than four feet from the edge of the street or curb, and authorized commercial establishments must do the same whenever possible. Sec. 94-58 then locks down the clock. Residents with curbside service cannot roll a container out earlier than 9:00 a.m. on the day before their scheduled collection day, but every container must actually be at curbside no later than 6:30 a.m. on the collection day itself.

Once collection is complete, residents have until 9:00 a.m. the following day to pull containers back off the curb and out of the front yard. Enforcement runs through the water bill: a resident gets two warning notices before the city adds a flat $50.00 assessment to the water account for every occurrence after that. The section carves out one exception: yard waste, as defined in Sec. 94-52, is exempt from the placement and removal windows except for the latest allowable placement time, which still applies.

Any container placed beyond the limits set for auxiliary containers can be billed as an extra container rather than treated as a straight violation, tying the rule to the city's utility billing system rather than municipal court.
