Bossier City, LA Trash & Recycling: Yard Waste Collection (2026)

Sec. 94-52(b)(4) sets the preparation rules for tree and shrubbery trimmings and yard waste placed at curbside for the contractor's once-weekly collection. Tree limbs or parts of trees cannot exceed six feet in length, eight inches in diameter, or 65 pounds in weight, and must be placed neatly at curbside for pickup; anything larger is not serviced by the regular collection. Grass clippings, leaves and other yard waste must be containerized in plastic bags of at least one and one-half millimeters in thickness, strong enough to be lifted from the top when full, capped at ten bags in one weekly pickup, and set at curbside separated from other solid waste.

Any spillage of leaves, small limbs and twigs left over from bagging must be containerized by the resident or property owner in time for the next weekly collection rather than left loose. These yard waste rules sit within the broader Sec. 94-52 collection-point standard, which requires trash, bundles, bulky waste and yard waste to be placed no more than four feet from the edge of the street or curb. Yard waste that is placed with an inseparable mix of tree limbs, rubbish and other bulky material is instead billed under the large-pile boom-truck rates in subsection (7), so keeping yard debris separately bagged and within the size and bag-count limits is what keeps it in the free weekly service.
