Shreveport collects household garbage once a week from a 96-gallon cart on the route day set by the city's collection map. Curbside recycling is suspended. A $7 monthly fee rides on the water and sewer bill.
Find your day on the collection route map at the bottom of the city's Garbage and Trash Collections page, or call Solid Waste at 318-673-6300. Route days fall on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Carts must be curbside before 7 a.m. and off the right-of-way by 10 p.m. Excess waste goes beside the cart in 35-gallon containers or securely tied bags under 50 pounds. Yard waste must be containerized at the curb. During holiday weeks routes shift and the city posts each revised schedule on the Public Works Calendar; no bulk collections are scheduled that week. Bulk items are collected by appointment.
Noncompliance draws a 24-hour correction sticker. Failure to correct brings a misdemeanor citation of $500, rising to $750 and $1,000 for repeat offenses within twelve months, with each day a separate offense.
