Yorba Linda, CA Building Safety: Green Building Code (2026)

Yorba Linda Municipal Code Section 15.10.010 adopts by reference the California Green Building Standards Code, 2025 Edition, published by the California Building Standards Commission, with a certified copy on file with the City Clerk for public inspection and the same force and effect as if set out in full. Section 15.10.020 amends Chapter 3 of that code by deleting Section 305, CALGreen Tier 1 and Tier 2, and Section 306, Voluntary Measures, in their entirety, meaning Yorba Linda does not layer the optional enhanced green building tiers on top of the mandatory statewide measures.

Section 15.10.030 deletes Appendix A4, Residential Voluntary Measures, in its entirety, and Section 15.10.040 deletes Appendix A5, Nonresidential Voluntary Measures, in its entirety. All three deletions and the base adoption were enacted together by Ordinance No. 2025-1125, effective October 21, 2025, which repealed the prior green building ordinance, Ordinance No. 2022-1100. Because the city adopts the mandatory CALGreen provisions without amendment, elements such as required construction waste diversion, water-efficient plumbing fixtures, and moisture control apply as written in the 2025 statewide code, while builders in Yorba Linda are not required or credited for pursuing the optional Tier 1 or Tier 2 enhancements that other cities may choose to adopt.
