Laguna Niguel has no citywide overnight ban for passenger cars, but oversized and commercial vehicles are prohibited on residential streets from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., and many neighborhoods require overnight permit decals.
Laguna Niguel imposes no blanket overnight ban on ordinary passenger vehicles. However, Laguna Niguel Municipal Code (LNMC) 7-4-606(c) prohibits parking any commercial vehicle, bus, motor truck, semi-trailer, or tractor-trailer exceeding 80 inches wide or 25 feet long on any public street between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Where residents petition and the city creates a Residential Parking Permit District under LNMC 7-4-607, only decal-displaying vehicles may park overnight during posted hours; the city studies demand with surveys around 12:00 a.m.-3:00 a.m. before approval. All vehicles remain bound by the 72-hour limit of LNMC 7-4-603(b). On private HOA streets, overnight parking is commonly restricted by CC&Rs and enforced by tow under CVC 22658.
An oversized or commercial vehicle on a residential street from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. violates LNMC 7-4-606(c) and may be towed. Overnight parking without a required decal (LNMC 7-4-607) draws a ticket. HOA streets use CVC 22658.
