Bostonia is unincorporated San Diego County, so the County sets the rule. Required parking areas can't be used to store boats, campers or trailers without a permit, and no vehicle may sit on a street over 72 hours.
The San Diego County Zoning Ordinance says required parking and loading areas 'shall be used exclusively for the parking and loading of vehicles and shall not be used for the sale, lease, display, repair, or storage of vehicles, trailers, boats, campers, mobile homes, merchandise or equipment' without a County permit or approval. On the street, County Code 72.122 caps any vehicle, including an RV or boat trailer, at 72 consecutive hours. Bostonia has no city government of its own, so these County rules apply; there is no County ban on keeping your own RV or boat on your private residential lot.
On-street storage past 72 hours may be cited and towed by the Sheriff under County Code 72.122 and Vehicle Code sections 22651/22652; misuse of required parking areas is a zoning violation.
