The Encinitas Municipal Code Chapter 30.16 (Off-Street Parking) and Chapter 23.08 (Definitions) regulate recreational vehicle and boat storage on residential properties. RVs, boats, trailers, and campers may not be parked or stored in required front setback areas or on any unpaved surface in residential zones. Vehicles must be stored behind the front building line and should be screened from view of adjacent properties and public streets where feasible. RVs and boats may not be occupied as living quarters on residential property. On-street parking of RVs and boats is subject to the 72-hour parking limit under EMC Chapter 11.20. Oversized vehicles exceeding posted limits may be cited on public streets. Properties in the Olivenhain community may have additional design review requirements.
