Kokomo Code of Ordinances § 72.09(H) bars parking a recreational vehicle or trailer of any kind or type on any street in the city for a continuous period exceeding 72 hours. The code closes an obvious loophole by defining 'park' in this subsection to include a 100-foot area from the original parking spot, so an owner cannot beat the clock by repeatedly shuffling the RV or boat trailer a short distance down the same block. The rule sits within the broader street-parking chapter governing size and obstruction limits: § 72.09(B) already caps any truck-type vehicle at 28 feet and 8 feet wide unless loading, and § 72.09(E) bars any vehicle over 7,000 pounds gross weight from parking on a city street at all, so a large travel trailer or boat rig may run afoul of more than one subsection at once.

Division (I) allows the Chief of Police or the Kokomo Traffic Commission to grant a limited, specific-purpose exception, such as a short extension while a resident loads for a trip. Outside the 72-hour street limit, § 72.11 separately requires any vehicle or trailer kept on residential property to sit on a hard surface, such as concrete, asphalt, or gravel, rather than on bare yard, and bars driving over a curb outside an approved curb cut to reach it. The Kokomo Police Department enforces both sections and can have a noncompliant vehicle towed at the owner's expense.
