Avondale, AZ Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

City Code Section 23-63(a) lists fifteen specific places where a vehicle may not stop, stand or park in Avondale: on a sidewalk, in front of a public or private driveway, within 20 feet of an intersection, within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, on a crosswalk, within 20 feet of any crosswalk at an intersection, in a posted 15 mph school crossing zone, within 30 feet of a stop sign, yield sign or traffic signal, within 50 feet of a railroad crossing, within 20 feet of a fire station driveway (75 feet on the opposite side), on a bridge or elevated structure, facing the wrong way against the flow of traffic, in a fire lane, and anywhere an official sign prohibits stopping.

Subsection (a)(11) also requires that a vehicle parked at the curb keep both right-side wheels within 18 inches of the edge or curb. The chief of police may post temporary no-parking zones for specific events and may suspend existing postings the same way (subsection (c)). Subsection (d) exempts police, fire and emergency vehicles, commercial vehicles actively loading or unloading without blocking traffic flow, and vehicles parked for a wedding, funeral or special event under a police-issued permit. Enforcement runs through Article III: an officer, community service officer or authorized volunteer places a citation on the vehicle under Section 23-71, and either the registered owner or the driver can be held responsible under Section 23-56(b). 00 if paid within the discount window printed on the citation. 1(e); failing to appear is treated as an admission of liability.
