Berwyn, IL Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Section 480.01 sets the base rule for the Berwyn Traffic Code: no driver of a vehicle shall park in a prohibited parking zone, or park in a limited parking zone except as designated by authorized signs. Section 480.08 then lists the streets. Parking is prohibited at all times and days on both sides of 16th Street between Clarence and East Avenues, the north side of 16th Street between Wisconsin and Wenonah Avenues, and the south side between Gunderson and Elmwood Avenues. Riverside Drive carries long all-day bans, the north side from the Library Parking Lot west to Harlem Avenue and the south side from Harlem Avenue to Maple Avenue, plus short bans measured from the stop bar at Oak Park Avenue: 100 feet west on the north side and 225 feet west on the south side. The list continues with the north side of 35th Street from Ridgeland Avenue to Lombard Avenue and stretches of Oak Park Avenue and Ridgeland Avenue near intersections.

Other rules apply on every block. Section 480.04 bars parking an unattended motor vehicle on any part of an alley. Section 480.06 requires pulling into, not backing into, diagonal spaces on the north side of Windsor Avenue, the south side of Stanley Avenue and in all municipal parking lots. Section 480.05(D) posts weekday street maintenance restrictions: between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., year round, cars must be off the west side of Clinton, Euclid, Grove, Maple and Wenonah Avenues on Tuesdays and the east side on Wednesdays, running from Roosevelt Road south to Pershing Road, with mirror-image schedules on other avenues. Section 480.05(E)(1) adds a 3:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. ban seven days a week on Roosevelt Road from Lombard Avenue west to Harlem Avenue, Cermak Road from Harlem Avenue to Lombard Avenue and Ogden Avenue from Lombard Avenue west to Harlem Avenue.

Any member of the Police Department can remove and tow, or have a commercial towing service remove and tow, a motor vehicle parked, stopped or standing in violation of any ordinance or of Chapter 480 (§ 480.02(A)). Curb loading zones under § 480.10 cap stops at 30 minutes unless posted otherwise, with hazard lights flashing.
