Arlington Heights enforces street parking time limits and seasonal restrictions. Overnight street parking requires a permit in most areas, and vehicles may not remain parked on village streets for extended periods without moving.
The Village of Arlington Heights enforces parking restrictions on public streets throughout the village. General street parking is limited to posted time restrictions, typically 2 to 4 hours in commercial areas and near the Metra station. Residential street parking is subject to a 48-hour limit, meaning vehicles may not remain parked in the same location for more than 48 consecutive hours. During winter months (November through March), overnight parking on village streets is prohibited between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM to facilitate snow removal operations. Overnight parking permits may be available for residents with limited off-street parking. Permit parking zones exist near the downtown Metra commuter station. Contact the Police Department non-emergency line at (847) 368-5300 for parking enforcement questions.
Violations of street parking limits result in parking tickets. Fines vary by violation type. Vehicles parked in violation during snow operations may be towed at the owner's expense.
