Tamarac, FL Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

City Code Sec. 14-26, last amended by Ordinance No. O-2025-023 on September 24, 2025, governs on-street parking in the public rights-of-way throughout the City of Tamarac. Subsection (a) makes vehicular parking in paved right-of-way areas the default rule, but a neighborhood as defined by the city's On-Street Parking Policy can opt out through a resident petition: fifty-five percent of residents voting in favor imposes a no-parking restriction, and the same fifty-five-percent threshold can later reinstate on-street parking, while the City Commission may also impose or lift restrictions on a neighborhood by majority vote.

Subsection (b) singles out Woodlands Boulevard for a blanket, no-exceptions ban: no vehicle may park on that right-of-way at any time, day or night. Subsection (c) applies citywide and targets safety hazards rather than convenience parking: it bars parking on dedicated bicycle lanes, and bars parking in any manner that blocks driveways or sidewalks, impedes the free flow of traffic, or interferes with emergency vehicle passage, again with no time-of-day exception. Sec. 14-37 sets the enforcement mechanism: violations are non-criminal parking infractions ticketed by the Broward Sheriff's Office, code enforcement officers, fire inspectors or other designated parking enforcement specialists, and the city ran a public education period after the 2024 and 2025 amendments before enforcing the updated neighborhood-petition and Woodlands Boulevard provisions.
