Quiet hours in Laguna Niguel, CA — also called the noise ordinance, nighttime noise rules, or residential quiet time — define the hours during which excessive noise is prohibited.
Laguna Niguel Municipal Code Division 6 (Noise Control) sets residential exterior limits of 55 dB(A) daytime (7 a.m.-10 p.m.) and 50 dB(A) nighttime (10 p.m.-7 a.m.). The whole city is Noise Zone 1.
There is no simple curfew; instead LNMC Section 6-6-5 makes it unlawful to let noise exceed the 55 dB(A) day / 50 dB(A) night standard measured on any other residential property. The limit tightens by 5 dB(A) if the sound is impact, tonal, speech, or music. Duration tiers apply: the standard may not be exceeded for more than 30 minutes/hour, +5 dB(A) for 15 minutes, +10 dB(A) for 5 minutes, +15 dB(A) for 1 minute, or +20 dB(A) at all. Interior limits (Section 6-6-6) are 55 dB(A) day and 45 dB(A) night inside a neighbor's dwelling. Violations are misdemeanors under Section 6-6-15, enforced by police (Section 6-6-11).
