Gardena Municipal Code Chapter 10.28 prohibits parking heavy commercial vehicles over 10,000 pounds unladen weight on any street or alley in a residential district, except briefly for a pickup, delivery, or service being performed in that block.
Under GMC Chapter 10.28, no person may park any bus, motor truck, semitrailer, trailer coach, or truck tractor exceeding 10,000 pounds unladen weight on any street or alley within a residential district for any purpose other than making a pickup or delivery, or when the vehicle is parked in connection with and in aid of a service being performed on a property in that block. A residential district means any district classified as residential under the city's zoning code. The restriction does not apply to commercial vehicles exempted by California Vehicle Code Section 22507.6. Commercial vehicles remain subject to the general 72-hour continuous-parking limit and street-sweeping restrictions that apply to all vehicles.
Parking a commercial vehicle over 10,000 pounds unladen in a residential district beyond a permitted delivery or service is a citable violation.
