Sunrise allows one recreational vehicle per single-family lot, up to 30 feet long, parked in a side or rear yard (Code Sec. 14-47). RVs over 30 feet must be fully enclosed in a garage. Boats and trailers get a specific driveway-side allowance.
Under City Code Sec. 14-47, RS-3, RS-5, and RS-7 lots may keep one recreational vehicle (motor home, travel trailer, camping trailer, truck camper, or boat and trailer) no more than 30 feet long unless fully enclosed in a garage. It must sit close to the house along the side (no more than 5 feet past the front building line), perpendicular in a designated driveway space, beside the driveway, or in the rear yard, and never within 10 feet of the pavement edge. Sec. 14-16(e) lets boats and trailers park perpendicular beside the driveway on gravel, mulch, or pavers. RVs may not be occupied or have wheels removed, and must stay registered and roadworthy. HOAs and CDDs often impose stricter limits.
Illegal RV parking carries a $75 fine under the Sec. 14-69 schedule; general Article II parking violations can reach $500 per day under Sec. 14-49. HOA and CDD fines apply separately per governing documents.
