General street parking in Dublin is allowed but capped at 72 consecutive hours under Municipal Code 6.04.430(C). The City Council and City Manager may designate no-parking and time-limited zones (6.04.250-6.04.275), which take effect once signs or curb markings are posted.
Dublin's Municipal Code Chapter 6.04 governs on-street parking. Section 6.04.430(C) makes it unlawful to park or leave a motor vehicle standing on any public street, highway or alley for more than 72 consecutive hours. Beyond that baseline, Section 6.04.250 authorizes the City Council (by resolution) and the City Manager to establish no-parking or restricted-parking areas; these become enforceable only once curb paint (per Section 6.04.290 color code) or signs are posted. Section 6.04.260 separately restricts parking during designated hours and days, and Section 6.04.270 allows posted time-limit zones. Section 6.04.275 permits preferential (permit) parking districts for residents or merchants. Section 6.04.450 makes it unlawful to defeat a time limit by simply moving a vehicle from one limited space to another on the same street, or by removing an officer's chalk mark. The Police Department enforces these provisions and may cite and/or tow vehicles in violation under Sections 6.04.210 and 6.04.300.
Parking over 72 hours, or violating a posted no-parking, time-limit or preferential zone, can result in a citation and towing under Sections 6.04.210, 6.04.300 and 6.04.430(C). Moving a car space-to-space to evade a posted time limit violates Section 6.04.450.
