Dublin regulates RVs, boats and trailers under its own Municipal Code. One RV may be parked on a residential driveway under Zoning Code 8.76.060, but on-street storage of oversized/non-motorized vehicles is heavily restricted by Chapter 6.04 to short, permit-based windows.
Dublin has its own rules for recreational vehicles. On private residential property, Zoning Ordinance Section 8.76.060(E) allows one recreational vehicle to be parked on the driveway or on the paved area between the driveway and the nearest side lot line, provided the RV plus accessories does not encroach within one foot of the public right-of-way and the area is paved with an all-weather surface. Up to two vehicles (which may include an RV) may also be parked in certain side or rear areas if screened by a six-foot fence or wall and at least one side yard stays open to 36 inches. On the public street, Section 6.04.430(D) prohibits parking any 'oversized motor vehicle' (house car, RV, or pickup with cab-over camper over 22 feet long, or over 84 inches wide or high) or 'nonmotorized vehicle' (trailer/boat trailer) at any time, except a 48-hour loading/unloading window in residential districts when attached to a tow vehicle and fronting the owner's home; a permitted 24-hour extension; and a visitor permit allowing up to five days in any 30-day period. No RV, boat or similar vehicle may be lived or slept in on a lot or right-of-way except under a Temporary Use Permit (Section 8.76.060(G)-(H)).
On-street oversized/nonmotorized vehicles beyond the allowed window may be cited or towed under Section 6.04.210 / 6.04.430(I). Living or sleeping in an RV on a lot without a Temporary Use Permit violates Zoning Code 8.76.060(H).
