Moore, OK Trash & Recycling: Bin Placement Rules (2026)

Sec 17-202(A) provides only one mobile container, or polycart, to each household by the city, to be used as the first means of disposing of garbage; additional polycarts may be obtained for a fee under the city's fee schedule, and no other containers except those the city provides are permitted. Sec 17-202(B) sets the placement rule at the center of curbside service: the container must be placed within three feet of the street curbside, except for carry-out service where it may sit within 75 feet of the front curbline; it may not be placed inside a garage or other structure, and no gate granting access to the container may be locked.

It is the resident's responsibility to place the container near the curb on the day designated for pickup by 7:00 a.m., and the resident must remove the container from curbside that same day. Carry-out service is available at no extra fee for residents who are physically unable to place containers at curbside, on submission of a city form with a doctor's certificate, though it does not cover yard trash. Containers damaged through a resident's abuse, neglect or improper use are repaired or replaced at the resident's expense; damage from normal use or theft is repaired at the city's expense.

Sec 17-202's final sentence separately makes it unlawful to deposit garbage, refuse or rubbish for collection on any street, parking area or private property without placing it in an enclosed container meeting these requirements. Public Works oversees this service, and a violation is punished under Sec 17-210's reference to the Sec 1-108 general penalty of up to $500.
