Moore, OK Trash & Recycling: Yard Waste Collection (2026)

Sec 17-201 defines yard trash as lawn clippings and leaves which must be in a trash bag and placed in a polycart at curbside, distinguishing it from ordinary garbage and recyclables. Sec 17-202 then sets the operative rule: yard waste must be placed in a polycart inside tightly-tied plastic bags, and the total of yard waste, refuse and other garbage placed inside a polycart should not weigh more than 200 pounds. Carry-out service, the accommodation for residents physically unable to place containers at curbside, specifically does not extend to yard trash, so those residents must still manage their own yard waste set-out.

Separately, Sec 17-202 addresses larger brush: it will be accepted for scheduled bulk pickup provided the bundles are no longer than two feet and no more than 12 inches in diameter, and are placed at curbside as scheduled through the public works department, meaning brush is handled on its own bulk schedule rather than the routine polycart route. Depositing yard waste or brush outside these container and bundling requirements is swept into Sec 17-202's closing prohibition on depositing garbage, refuse or rubbish for collection without placing it in an enclosed container meeting the section's requirements.

Public Works administers both the regular and bulk brush schedules, and Sec 17-210 punishes a violation of any Chapter 17-2 regulation, including these yard waste rules, as provided in the Sec 1-108 general penalty of up to $500.
