Moore, OK Trash & Recycling: Collection Schedule (2026)

Section 17-203 of the Moore Code of Ordinances requires the city, not private companies, to furnish garbage and trash hauling service throughout Moore, and prohibits any other person from removing garbage, refuse, rubbish or waste from a refuse container or receptacle, or from transporting it through or over city streets, without authorization required by law. Companion section 17-202 sets the operational schedule residents must follow: households receive one polycart from the city as the primary disposal container, must place it within three feet of the curb (or, for carry-out customers physically unable to move a cart, within 75 feet of the front curbline) by 7:00 a.m. on the designated pickup day, and must remove the emptied cart from curbside the same day.

Section 17-204 requires every collection vehicle used for hauling refuse, rubbish or garbage in the city to be built so nothing falls or blows out and to be kept clean and sanitary. Section 17-205 separately declares it a nuisance and an offense for garbage, refuse or waste to accumulate on premises beyond small amounts between regular pickups, reinforcing that residents must rely on the scheduled city service rather than storing waste indefinitely. Together these sections make Moore's sanitation department the exclusive residential hauler absent a specific authorization.
