Ogden, UT Parking Rules: RV & Boat Parking (2026)

Ogden City Code splits RV, trailer and boat parking into two rules covering yards and streets. Under section 10-5-29, it is unlawful to park a motor vehicle, trailer or boat in the "front yard area" of residential property, defined as the open space between the building line and the street lot line across the full width of the lot. The exception in subsection C lets owners park on a concrete or asphalt slab or a driveway that leads to legal parking at the rear or side of the building, provided that slab or driveway meets the Zoning Title's requirements, either under current standards or as a lawful nonconforming use.

Separately, section 10-5-23 targets larger units left on the street: a "restricted recreational vehicle" is one with a body height of 7 feet or more, a body width of 8 feet or more, or a body length of 20 feet or more, covering travel trailers, camping trailers, truck campers, motor homes, fifth-wheel trailers and vans. Such a vehicle cannot be parked, placed or stored on any residential street for longer than 24 hours, and moving it within the same block during that period still counts as a violation. Parking a restricted recreational vehicle within 30 feet of an intersection is also barred. 00 civil penalty tier.
