Ogden, UT Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Section 10-5-1 of Ogden City Code lays out the city's baseline no-parking rules that apply on every public street whether or not a location is separately signed. Subsection A bars stopping, standing, or parking on the roadway side of another parked vehicle, on a sidewalk, within an intersection, on a crosswalk, alongside a street excavation that would obstruct traffic, on a bridge or in a highway tunnel, on railroad tracks, on a controlled access highway, or in the median area of a divided highway. Subsection B adds a second tier of location-based bans that allow only a momentary stop to pick up or drop off a passenger: in front of any public or private driveway, within fifteen feet of a fire hydrant, within twenty feet of a crosswalk at an intersection, within thirty feet of the approach to a stop sign, yield sign, or traffic signal, and within twenty feet of a fire station driveway (extending to seventy five feet on the opposite side when posted).

Subsection D makes it separately unlawful to move an unauthorized vehicle into any of these prohibited zones or an unlawful distance from the curb. These citywide prohibitions apply in addition to, not instead of, location-specific restrictions posted under sections 10-5-2 through 10-5-4 for all-times no-parking zones, restricted-hours zones, and time-limited spaces. The Ogden Police Department enforces section 10-5-1 and may cite or, under section 10-5-24, relocate a vehicle that is creating a danger to persons or property.
